Abstract

|
|
Combined treatment of coating materials and gamma-radiation to apples was attempted to minimize side-effect occurred by gamma-irradiation.
Apples were treated with OED, OED-G, and CMC to control their transpiration and respiration and these apples, under modified internal atmosphere, were subjected to low-level irradiation.
Advantage of the combined treatment of coating and gamma-irradiation for extending storage life of the apple was not observed.
